(Almost) Silent Sunday: Pale and Pretty

NB: A note for WordPress Reader users – you need to click on the title of the post again to see the full photograph. (Otherwise you see just a tiny section!)

It’s the last bit of glorious weather here, so I am doing a post-and-run so that I can spend the time outside. Astrantia is still flowering in October. Its pale colours are a contrast with the dark astrantia flowers of this post.

      1. Same things as always – space (mostly) and yet more money for plants. (The second one isn’t really a problem, as my Hubby would confirm… πŸ™‚ )

  1. I’ve finally replanted my two Astrantia, one white, one dark red, to a spot where they hopefully won’t be smothered by anything else. Third move so let’s hope this is the final one!

  2. This is really a gorgeous flower Ann! Terrific photography too! Just this morning it has gotten a little chilly here so am anticipating cooler days.

    1. Thank you! (Is it you, Syd? Still getting ‘Anonymous’ here! They are great flowers to photograph – makes me want to grow some of the other colours.
Warm here today, more than normal, but the temperature will drop down low next week. Might be a bit of a shock to the system! πŸ™‚

  3. I knew these looked familiar, even though I didn’t remember the name. Then I looked at your linked photo, and recognized them. A mass of them in mixed colors would be beautiful. Despite my love of white flowers, I’d be willing to make room for some of the other colors!

    1. LOL, Steve, sometimes that’s not too far off what I’m doing. There are areas of the garden that lose any sunshine much more quickly than others and can feel a bit dark by the time I’m photographing flowers there. (And I do like pale flowers against a dark background.)

  4. Your “Almost Silent Sunday” post featuring the pale and pretty flowers is a visual delight. The soft pastel colors and the delicate beauty of the blooms create a serene and calming atmosphere. It’s a lovely reminder of the simple yet enchanting moments that nature offers us. Thanks for sharing this beautiful snapshot! πŸŒΈπŸ“·πŸƒ
