I’m having a little holiday this week because we have visitors staying. So I’ll just leave you this pretty white gaura (Oenothera lindheimeri, AKA Lindheimer’s beeblossom). It’s a great plant for flowering profusely right up until the frosts start and a favourite of mine.

As you’ve heard me say, Lindheimer’s gaura is native in Austin and vicinity. Lindheimer emigrated from Germany to New Braunfels in central Texas, and people can still visit his home there.

It’s a lovely plant to have as a memorial! I reckon it must look fantastic growing in the wild, especially if there’s an expanse of it.
