(Almost) Silent Sunday: Peony

NB: A note for WordPress Reader users – you need to click on the title of the post again to come out of the reader and go to the post itself. This allows you to see the whole of the top photograph. (Otherwise you may see just a tiny section!)

I’m almost home, so normal blogging will soon be resumed. 🙂 Meanwhile I’ll leave you with this lovely peony flower. (If I had more room in my garden I would love to grow this one!)

    1. I love this sort of open centre on a flower, partly because of how it looks, but mostly because it’s so easy for the bees to get at. (Wish this one was in my garden!)

      1. Mostly space, Steve…like many gardeners, I pack as much in as I can to a fairly small area. But there’s always the possibility of finding a space in the future if I have to replace something…or dig up more of the grass! (Our ‘lawn’ has got much smaller over the years, but I think Hubby would like to keep some, hehe!)

    1. That is how it looks to me too…magenta on the filaments and yellow anthers. Those magenta splashes on the petals really appeal to me and I reckon it’s one of the loveliest peonies I’ve seen.
