(Almost) Silent Sunday: Allium siculum

NB: A note for WordPress Reader users – you need to click on the title of the post again to come out of the reader and go to the post itself. This allows you to see the whole of the top photograph. (Otherwise you may see just a tiny section!)

I’m a bit under the weather this week, due to a nasty cough and cold, so haven’t felt like doing any photography. Instead, here is one from the archives – Allium siculum (AKA Nectaroscordum siculum), or Sicilian honey garlic, much-loved by bees. 🐝

  1. I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling well; I hope things improve soon. I must say that your archive selection was a great one. I can’t remember seeing a plant like this. The ‘fall’ of the blooms from the central point is graceful and elegant.

    1. These are really pretty members of the allium family – I love the mother-of-pearl look of the colouration. I think that alliums are good amongst fruit trees to discourage pest, so I may have a good excuse for planting more. (Feeling a bit better now, but taking it easy. This cold has made me so sleepy! Thanks for the good wishes. 🙂 )

    1. Thank you – I am feeling a lot better now! 🙂 (For some strange reason, your comment ended up in spam, which doesn’t make any sense, given that you regularly comment. Sometimes I think that WP is weird!)
