I have Covid (for the first time), so I’m using it as an excuse to take it easy this week and just re-posting a photograph from 2019. Sometimes I get lucky and there’s something still in flower when the first frosts arrive. This is the rose ‘Zepherine Drouhin’.
You did amazinglyโwell to avoid it for so long! Especially in the UK. We haven’t had it yet. Hope you’re all better very soon, Ann! xx

Thank you! I was lucky to escape it long enough to get this mild version. (Hubby still seems not to have caught it.) ๐

Thanks Steve! I’m just glad that I didn’t catch one of the earlier variants and that I was lucky enough to escape until it got milder. Hubby hasn’t had it at all yet and it looks as if he may get away with it!

Thank you Mr P! Mostly through it now, just a bit tired. Didn’t fancy picking up my camera while I’ve been feeling woolly-headed but will be back to it soon! ๐

Archives can be so useful; I’m sorry yours came to your aid under these circumstances. It’s good to hear your case was relatively mild and that you’re feeling better. You’ll know when it’s time to emerge from your cocoon!

It is very handy to have lots of older photos available at times like this! It’s sunny outside, so I reckon I get out into the garden for a while this afternoon. Thank you! ๐

That’s a beauty. Damp and foggy here today so I’m taking it easy too. No excuse for my laziness though. I’m glad to hear that you are getting better. We’ve escaped so far, though had a particularly nasty lurgy in 2022, but tested negative for covid.

Thanks Jude – it’s a rose that seems to do OK without any pampering. Glad you’ve escaped covid so far, I’m surprised that my Hubby has managed to do so! I’m feeling a lot better, so hoping for some gardening tomorrow, especially if we get some sun.

Thanks Jill! I’m feeling much better now – and keen to get back out in the garden, especially if the sun shines. The rose does well, despite less than ideal conditions – it must be tough!

I thought I’d left a comment but must have messed it up.. the icy pink roses look so pretty. Hope you’re soon over the bug – you’ve done well to avoid it for so long!

Thanks Liz! I was lucky not to catch it until the latest much milder variant and I’m pretty much over it now. Hubby was lucky enough not to catch it at all!

Wow Ann! (Finally got back on Chrome here.) Hope you are feeling better. I have never had it either and keep my fingers crossed. Still love the image even if it was a reblog. You have such beautiful flower pix! Get well soon!

It’s great to be able to see your name, although I guessed a few times that you were commenting anonymously. I’m better now, thank you, though still a bit tired, and getting a bit more done at last!

I have tried several times to get it through, but Mozilla appears to be a problem. There are other sites that do not work with comments also, but I can like the blog. Really strange.
