The Colours of Courage

I cannot find the words to express how I feel about the evil of the war being made on Ukraine by Putin and the Kremlin. My heart is full of grief and rage at the terrible sufferings of the brave Ukrainian people. Yellow and blue – the colours of the Ukrainian flag – will always stand for courage.

    1. Thank you Liz! I seem to be able to think of little other than Ukraine this week. These are two older photos from my film days but with their colours, it seemed an appropriate time to re-post them.

    1. It’s so frustrating not to be able to do anything to help, but just having to watch it all unfold. The only thing I have been able to do is to keep in contact with a couple of young women who are in different areas of Ukraine via Twitter. They say it helps, that reading messages from outside and talking about what is happening to them. It’s something so small, but if it makes them feel any better, I shall keep doing it.

  1. Your colors are appropriately bold. Good thought!

We discovered that for several years a Ukrainian immigrant has been living on the street that intersects outs. We went over there the other day to commiserate with her.

    1. It’s hard to think of anything else at the moment. It’s in the news all the time here. I’m in contact with a couple of young women in different areas of Ukraine and now their areas are starting to be shelled. I just hope it doesn’t get very bad where they are. I can’t imagine what it must be like to have your life turned upside-down like that.
