I cannot find the words to express how I feel about the evil of the war being made on Ukraine by Putin and the Kremlin. My heart is full of grief and rage at the terrible sufferings of the brave Ukrainian people. Yellow and blue – the colours of the Ukrainian flag – will always stand for courage.
Slava Ukraini!
Ann, your first pic is breathtaking, and totally triumphant .. bravo!

Thank you Liz! I seem to be able to think of little other than Ukraine this week. These are two older photos from my film days but with their colours, it seemed an appropriate time to re-post them.

Beautiful photos and I agree with you that this is so painful to watch.

It’s so frustrating not to be able to do anything to help, but just having to watch it all unfold. The only thing I have been able to do is to keep in contact with a couple of young women who are in different areas of Ukraine via Twitter. They say it helps, that reading messages from outside and talking about what is happening to them. It’s something so small, but if it makes them feel any better, I shall keep doing it.

Your colors are appropriately bold. Good thought!
We discovered that for several years a Ukrainian immigrant has been living on the street that intersects outs. We went over there the other day to commiserate with her.

It must be very worrying for her, especially if she still has family or friends there.

She’d been keeping in touch the best she could since the invasion began. She said she hadn’t been sleeping well, understandably.

The stress must be sky-high for both the relatives and (obviously) the Ukrainians in the country. It must take a toll on their health.

Yes, it must. Even as a person not directly involved, I’ve felt stress and have had trouble sleeping.

I’m sharing your rage and grief, Ann, and am wishing with you and countless other people for peace.

I’m just about to start checking the news and to see if the two women I communicate with on Twitter are OK – as are so many people -such a large force of good wishes, care, love…

Your pictures are inspiring just like the brave actions of the Ukrainian people, Ann.

Thanks Steve! It’s been hard to think of anything other than the war in Ukraine this week. I can’t imagine what it’s like to live through.

Very heartfelt sentiment Ann. I think we are all upset about these on-going events.

It’s hard to think of anything else at the moment. It’s in the news all the time here. I’m in contact with a couple of young women in different areas of Ukraine and now their areas are starting to be shelled. I just hope it doesn’t get very bad where they are. I can’t imagine what it must be like to have your life turned upside-down like that.

I wish the very best for them.
